National Veterans Outreach Program, Inc.
How is your financial contribution helping meet the needs of our veterans?
The AGIF National Veterans Outreach Program (NVOP) currently offers employment services to Veterans & homeless civilians and Housing & Counseling services to Veterans in five Texas cities: Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio (400,000+ served since NVOP’s founding in 1972).
EMPLOYMENT: NVOP offers two employment programs in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission both of which provide: outreach, assessment, basic skills training, case management, support services, job development, & employment retention supports to men and women in need. Texas Veterans Outreach Program (TVOP) serves Veterans while the Employer and Community-Based Organization Partnerships Initiative serves both civilians & Veteran clients experiencing homelessness.
HOUSING: Permanent housing assistance (housing search, payment of deposit/fees/rent, support services) is offered to Veterans via our Support Services for Veteran Families and Rapid Rehousing programs. In San Antonio, NVOP provides housing assistance to Veterans in the form of temporary housing at our nationally-recognized Residential Center for Veterans which offers case management, 3 meals daily, transportation, substance abuse treatment, & socialization.
MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING: At no cost to them, counseling is provided to Veterans by licensed mental health counselors via our on-site mental health clinic in San Antonio. Counselors also outreach & provide community education re: suicide and Veteran issues.
Give Back Fundraising has generously set up an on-line auction to benefit our outreach programs.
